Music for an Empty Pond is a live controlled 8 channel sound installation in which Paula Schopf and Max Loderbauer deconstruct the natural sounds and the way these are experienced of a specific locations, in this case the pond and the Sternhagen Gut park. Inspired by Henry D. Thoreau’s diary, the artists translate into sound the ideas and thoughts depicted in his book.
The juxtaposition of natural sounds and the deliberate shifting of seasons create, through their capture, editing and delayed playback, for the attentive listener a new dimension in appreciating nature.
