The compilation „Music For Children“ was a collaboration between the Swiss record label „Bruchstücke“ and “Ruta 5”. I invited musicians from the Berlin and international music scene to produce music for kids.
The listening habits of children these days is very different. Musicians like Debussy or Satie also dealt with the topic of kids music in order to explore fantasy, playfulness and maybe also to discover their innerer child. Many of the artists who were commissioned for this project now have, after years of intensive club and party culture, children of their own or are familiar with kids rooms through their circle of friends.
The compilation opens a space between these two seemingly disparate poles.
